A stabilized explicit Lagrange multiplier based domain decomposition method for parabolic problems

A fully explicit, stabilized domain decomposition method for solving moderately stiff parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs) is presented. Writing the semi-discretized equations as a differential-algebraic equation (DAE) system where the interface continuity constraints between subdomains are enforced by Lagrange multipliers, the method uses the Runge–Kutta–Chebyshev projection scheme ...

A Domain Decomposition Method Combining a Boundary Element Method with a Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin Method

A non-overlapping domain decomposition algorithm combining boundary element method with meshless local Petrov-Galerkin method is presented for solving the boundary value problem with discontinuous coefficient in this paper. The static relaxation parameter is employed to speed up the convergence rate. The convergence range and the optimal value of static relaxation parameter are studied, but the...

Convergence of a Lagrange–Galerkin method for a fluid-rigid body system in ALE formulation

We propose a numerical scheme to compute the motion of a two-dimensional rigid body in a viscous fluid. Our method combines the method of characteristics with a finite element approximation to solve an ALE formulation of the problem. We derive error estimates implying the convergence of the scheme. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification. 35Q30, 65M12, 76D05, 76M10.

A Subgrid Viscosity Lagrange-galerkin Method for Convection-diffusion Problems

Abstract. We present and analyze a subgrid viscosity Lagrange-Galerkin method that combines the subgrid eddy viscosity method proposed in W. Layton, A connection between subgrid scale eddy viscosity and mixed methods. Appl. Math. Comp., 133: 147-157, 2002, and a conventional Lagrange-Galerkin method in the framework of P1⊕ cubic bubble finite elements. This results in an efficient and easy to i...
